
ABOUT Dj Babus
Babatunde Bashir-Bello, better known as DJ Babus, was one of a kind. He was a kind, sweet and humble soul. His laugh, energy and his love for life were contagious. He meant so much to so many and had the incredible ability to make each and every relationship deep and special in its own way. With friends and family, he was the glue that held everyone together.
DJ Babus is the youngest of 3 children. He attended Bellina Nursery and Primary school and Adesoye College Offa for his secondary school. He got a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Technology Management from University of Baltimore and then studied Music Engineering and Production in Ohio, USA.
DJ Babus started his professional music career at the radio station in college, WMBC. Soon after, he started to DJ for events in DC, Maryland and Virginia. He returned to Nigeria to work as a music engineer and then joined KnightHouse Creative as a Talent Manager and a DJ. He performed at various clubs, hotels, and events in Nigeria and the East Coast of America. He worked with reputable brands like Samsung, Ciroc, Baileys, Budweiser, Radisson Blu and much more. He also performed at parties and concerts for Idris Elba, Chris Brown, Akon, Maxwell and the Migos. Although he built his reputation on House music, DJ Babus played a wide variety of music including Afro Pop, Hip Hop, Old School Classics, Funk, Dancehall and so much more. DJ Babus worked as the Resident DJ at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Intercontinental Hotel and RSVP Restaurant and Lounge till his passing in January 2021.
DJ Babus was an entrepreneur. He launched Fat Boi Studios, a multimedia studio where he worked as a producer and engineer, and wrote and produced music and radio commercials. He founded Crates and Vinyl Entertainment, an entertainment and media company and Music on Music, a blog dedicated to the engine, brain, and force behind the entertainment industry.
LDJ Babus also released his own music. He released his first EP titled “Euphoria” in 2016, the single, “With You” in 2018, the instrumental album “Can you Stay?” in 2020 and in November 2020, he dropped a new song “Jollof on the Beach” which he produced and sang on.
DJ Babus’ dedication to working hard and following his dreams, has inspired many to be courageous, entrepreneurial and live life to the fullest
